Department 03 · Studio work

Color, texture, and instinct.

The painting studio is where ideas are allowed to change. Original paintings and mixed-media studies grow through marks, layers, materials, and the kind of creative decisions that can only happen by hand.

What is taking shape

Art with evidence of the hand.

From first mark to finished work

The studio process.

Painting is less about following a formula and more about paying attention. Each layer changes what the next decision needs to be.

  1. 01

    Notice

A color, memory, texture, or unexpected detail becomes the first spark for a new studio experiment.

  2. 02

    Layer

Marks, materials, and pigments are built gradually, allowing the surface to develop history and depth.

  3. 03

    Transform

The piece changes direction as new relationships emerge—nothing is forced to stay exactly as it began.

  4. 04

    Resolve

The final details bring the work into focus while preserving the movement, texture, and curiosity of the process.

Made slowly and intentionally

Every surface remembers the process.

Scraped-back layers, visible marks, texture, and small imperfections are not mistakes—they are part of the history that makes an original artwork impossible to duplicate.

Every future listing will clearly identify the materials, size, presentation, availability, and story behind the work.
